I've bought hundreds of sets of guitar strings over the years and I've learned that you can either run around town hoping that the music stores near you (and there are less and less) have the guitar strings you need--whether acoustic or electric.

Or, you can just buy guitar strings online. This is a very effective way to get strings for your guitar because all you have to do is point and click and then your strings get sent to you. Pick up a capo or some picks while you're at it. The best place to buy guitar strings (or at least the best place I've found them online) is at Amazon.com. Amazon has access to all the big name string makers and you can find their wares at great prices. See some of the options below.

These D'Addario Phosphor Bronze guitar strings retail at $36, but you can buy them on Amazon for $15. Not a bad deal at all for some of the highest quality strings in the game.

I tuned in to the Country Music Awards for a couple of minutes when a very nervous looking Gwyneth Paltrow performed the theme song from her new movie Country Strong and immediately realized (after I realized that she looked really really nervous) that she has a pretty good voice and still looks amazing.

I think she could really pull off the country singer thing if she really wanted to. She has a nice soulful voice and seemed to feel the music. I was looking for the guitar tabs to Country Strong and haven't found then yet. And I didn't really feel like trying to tab them out myself although I'm sure you could get away with open chord strumming. You can buy the sheet music to Country Strong for about $5 on Amazon.

The National is one of the most original (or idiosynchratic) popular bands out today. The album "Boxer" brought them a lot of attention and was a brooding but somehow poppy and bright album about city life, work life, and growing up. Or, at least that's what it seems like it's about.

Learning to play the guitar is just like any skill--it takes practice. If you are musically inclined, then it may be a little bit easier for you to learn. If you have rhythm, that's another plus.

But it really boils down to how often you play the guitar. It just flat out takes practice. But that doesn't mean it isn't fun. It is. There's nothing like the feeling of working really hard to learn one of your favorite songs.

For me, it was Sublime and Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jack Johnson songs that I worked really hard to learn how to play.

It definitely helps to have a little bit of focus while you're learning how to play.

Country-Tabs.net is another online destination completely dedicated to bringing you high quality chords and tabs of the foremost names in the country music genre.

Check out Cowboy Lyrics, a website where you can find, not only guitar tabs, but also lyrics to many of the most popular bands out there.

Often, guitar tabulature can have the wrong lyrics attached, if you are lucky enough to find tabs that even have the lyrics. So when you're learning that country song and plucking it out on your guitar, go over to cowboy lyrics and check out the words.

One more place you can learn to play country songs on your guitar is in the "country" section of a great tab site called , GuitarMasta.

There are a few songs that every beginning guitarist wants to learn. There is, of course, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, which is actually not that easy of a song to learn even using the guitar tab.

Another one is, and this is more contemporary, Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Give the Under the Bridge guitar tab a go and you will see that it is not that difficult. It takes a little bit or an understanding of hand placement and positioning, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to bust out this awesome intro for your friends.

The Under the Bridge intro is very recognizable and it sounds harder to play than it really it. Your friends will be impressed.
